Dear WAFC Members, Illuminators, and Friends of the Industry:

It is with sincere pleasure that I invite you to join us March 29-April 2, 2008 at the WAFC’s 87th Annual Convention at the world class JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort, in Palm Desert, California.

The theme for this year’s convention is “Education: The Competitive Edge.” We have an exciting line-up of guest speakers this year including: Jeff Noddle, Chairman and CEO of SUPERVALU, Inc., D. Michael Abrashoff (former Navy Commander and author of the best seller, “It’s Your Ship”), Connie Podesta, dynamic international speaker, Frank Maguire, one of corporate America’s most knowledgeable authorities on organization culture, marketing, branding and communications, and Sam Donaldson, the highly regarded veteran correspondent, ABC News. We are also very excited to have the legendary Kenny Loggins, one of the most popular singer/songwriters in the music industry for our entertainment at the Tuesday night banquet. Additionally, 2008 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Food Industry Management Program at USC. We will be celebrating this milestone during the convention. Overall, one of our best Convention programs ever…you won’t want to miss it!

The WAFC Convention is highly regarded throughout the Industry as the “best event of the year.” It provides a convenient opportunity for scheduling business discussions, as well as, getting to know others in the Industry. Please be sure to take advantage of the time to schedule some meetings with your Industry colleagues.

Each year, nearly ten percent of the attendees are “first timers.” We welcome these first timers, and promise to provide many opportunities to relax and enjoy the company of old and new friends alike.

If all that isn’t enough to persuade you to join us, what about the world-renowned hospitality of the Illuminators? Under the direction of Headlite, Vic Chiono, the Illuminators promise to take exceptional care of all of our delegates.
