Every 10 years(!) the village people of Oberammergau in Germany, put on a Passion Play. Our travel agent, Joyce Becker, has suggested that we get a group together to go to Oberammergau and combine it with a river cruise on the Danube in 2010! But she has discovered that several dates for the play are already sold out. Fortunately, August 12 is still available, and her agency has made a deposit to hold seats for a group.

A deposit of $500.00 per person should be made ASAP for the best selection of stateroom; PLUS, it guarantees your reservation for this meaningful, outstanding presentation. Space is limited and sells out quickly. All taxes are included. Trip cancellation/interruption insurance is available.

Please contact Joyce for pricing on the air portion of the trip. You can also make your own arrangements to Munich, returning from Budapest. But, we recommend making flying arrangements through Viking, which include taxes and transportation to and from the airports in Europe. Joyce will be more than happy to help you make these arrangements.

[1] For Oberammergau: The Passion Play begins in the afternoon and concludes [after a dinner] in the evening. Our reserved seats are in section 1A. Very good seats right in the middle, not far from the stage!

[2] For Viking cruises: We have sailed twice with Viking and have been very pleased. We fly to Munich and Viking will take our group by bus to Oberammergau; and the next day to the ship, the Viking Danube. This ship carries a maximum of 150 passengers. The cost from Munich to Budapest is all-inclusive: transportation, first-rate hotels, Passion Play, meals, tours and excursions.

We have actually taken this river cruise before, and are excited about seeing Vienna and Budapest again! The concert in Vienna (Mozart and Strauss waltzes) is unforgettable. The ship docks where we can walk right into town. We have never seen anything like the abbey in Melk, and are still talking about it! And wait until you see picturesque Regensburg - and more. And by the way, you will like the European and American food everyday, as much as we did.

I also plan to include some spiritual times with our group to talk about the life of Jesus, the Passion Play and to answer any questions as they arise.
