Storage and Accessibility
MontroseTravel.com stores traveler profiles in three separate locations:
- In our GDS (Global Distribution Service),
- Online in our Travelport
booking engine,
- AND in an agency client database.
The client database holds basic information such as name, phone
number, title, e-mail address, and other contact information. The
main purpose of this database is to provide centralized information
for contacting clients.
The profiles in the GDS and Travelport are much more comprehensive.
In addition to contact details, they also store emergency information,
air, hotel and car preferences; vendor loyalty details; credit card
information and passport information. On a company level, traveler
profiles also store department, division and job function information.
All profiles are stored in encrypted format to ensure the security
of the data. All online venues to submit or change profile data
are housed on SSL servers.

Currently profiles are synchronized in one direction,
meaning changes made online in the Travelport booking engine
are transmitted back to our GDS. Changes made in the GDS must
be duplicated in Travelport. Bi-directional synchronization
will be available within approximately six months.

Traveler profiles can be accessed and updated
online using Travelport. Initial submissions and updates can
also be made using your company customized CorpConnect
Portal. |
| – |
Travelport’s intuitive user interface enables
travel agencies and travel managers to map profile data to a
specified GDS field or HR database. |
