Carnival Splendor's Splendid Spa

For the moment, let’s put aside Carnival Splendor’s new itineraries — including the line’s first foray into Northern Europe and its first cruises to South America. We want to tell you instead about Carnival Splendor’s “spa staterooms.” The 68 spa staterooms and suites will surround “Cloud 9 Spa,” a 21,000-square-foot health and fitness facility on Carnival’s newest ship.

A new concept for Carnival, Cloud 9 Spa will offer a host of innovations, including a thalassotherapy pool and thermal suite, comprised of four climate-controlled rooms with varying degrees of warmth and coolness.

Guests who book accommodations in the spa staterooms and suites will receive exclusive amenities and privileges, including unlimited access to the spa and facilities, priority spa appointments with pre-cruise concierge consultation, complimentary fitness classes and more. A private elevator will connect Cloud 9 Spa and the spa stateroom complex.

Spanning the forward position on two full decks and providing panoramic views of the sea, Cloud 9 Spa features a full gymnasium and 17 private treatment rooms, including two VIP facilities just for couples.

Now, back to those itineraries. Carnival Splendor will debut on July 13, 2008, with a series of 12-day Northern Europe cruises, a first for Carnival. The new class of vessel for Carnival then sails on 12-day cruises to the Mediterranean and the Greek Isles through October, followed by a transatlantic crossing from Rome to Fort Lauderdale, positioning the vessel for a series of seven day Caribbean voyages.

Beginning January 2009, Carnival Splendor will operate the company’s first-ever South America voyages, with a variety of 14- to 18-day departures featuring extended calls in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile and Peru.
