Closed for online registrations - Exploring
Ft. Worth, Thistle Hill Mansion and the Amon Carter Museum
Otherwise known as Cowtown, Fort Worth is where the Old West comes to life right before your eyes! You will tour the historical downtown area and visit Sundance Square—an area named for some of its most famous residents, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. You will also visit the Stockyards and experience a true cattle drive with real longhorn steers. You will feel as though you have stepped back into the late 1800’s, as every detail of the Stockyards takes you back to the days of cowboys and the Old West. There will be plenty of time to have lunch (on your own) and do some shopping. Before going to Cowtown, you will stop and tour Thistle Hill Mansion. Thistle Hill is the most impressive surviving mansion of the “cattle baron” era. This gorgeous property exemplifies wealth and beauty that people come to expect from Texas folklore. You will spend time walking through the house and hearing stories about the families who lived there so long ago. After lunch, you will then head over to Amon Carter Museum, which is home to the largest collection of Remington and Russell western art paintings and sculpture. Your full-day tour will take you through the city that still truly lives the Old West. 7 hours $79
