Dear 5150 Participants and Various Party Cruisers,
Look out Caribbean – The 5150s are back!!! Once again, I
am proud to offer the best Continuing Education cruise
package for medical personnel on the seven seas. This
year, I am pleased to announce that I have secured the
ultimate party platform for the 5150 group: the new
Norwegian Cruise
Lines Epic cruise ship!
And when I say new, I mean brand new. The ship is still
under construction and isn’t scheduled for a maiden
voyage until June 2010. This ship is incredible! Ultra
modern in design and the latest in cruise ship
technology and comfort, the ship boasts such amenities
as the first ever ocean going Ice Bar, the first I’ve
seen on a ship Bowling Alley, a rock climbing wall,
outdoor theater screen for movies under the stars, over
20 restaurant styles to compliment the Freestyle Dining,
which NCL introduced over 8 years ago as an industry
first. And so much more, I could write about it all day!
For the 2010 5150 CE Cruise, we’re making two new stops
in the Western Caribbean, Costa Maya, Mexico and Roatan,
Honduras. Costa Maya is located about 120 miles south of
the eastern tip of the Cancun peninsula, just hours from
downtown Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. But don’t worry;
Costa Maya has plenty to do and see without having to
take hours to travel to Cancun. You’ll have the
opportunity to maximize your vacation in this quaint
Mexican town with all the souvenir shopping, village
exploring, and expedition hunting you could want. Roatan
is internationally known for its pristine beaches,
natural beauty and some of the world’s best scuba
diving. It boasts the second largest coral reef in the
world, second only to the Great Barrier Reef of
Australia.
Located on the east coast of Central America, about 150
miles southeast of Belize, Roatan is part of what is
known as the Bay Islands of Honduras. The unique thing
about Roatan is that outside the resorts you won't find
the crowds, beachside peddlers, casinos, high-rises, or
other signs of modern life now changing many Caribbean
getaways. What you will find are locals socializing in
tiny beach bars, rustic shops with handmade crafts, and
an easy going island pace. On the stop, you’ll have the
opportunity to visit such landmarks and Capt Sanchez
mines and the Museum of Spanish Culture.
As has always been our purpose, we are providing Firefighters and Medical personnel with the finest in Continuing Education instruction, supplied once again by Teri Sullivan RN, N.Ed,MICN, CEN. She is an accomplished Emergency Nurse Educator with extensive experience in the care of trauma, emergency and prehospital care patients. Teri Sullivan is one of the finest medical instructors around; Teri is currently enrolled in a doctoral program specializing in Education. The 5150 cruise isnt just about fun and frolicking in the sun. Its also about maintaining your medical accessibility status through quality continuing education. The cruise will offer 8 hours of classroom instruction for CE credits for EMT/EMT-P/MIC/RN Provider 12 #19-0009 Category 1 AND 2. Both days of instruction will be on board during scheduled Day at Sea.
I’m excited about this new ship and the awesome
adventures that await the 5150 group. My goal is to
provide an incredible vacation for all that join us,
accompanied with the camaraderie that unites
firefighter, EMTs, and the other medical personnel that
will join. And as usual, non-medical travelers are
welcome to join us. And as an added benefit, we won’t
make you sit through any CE course lectures.
Bon voyage |
